RIP Brother Lutz

It is with deep respect and heartfelt remembrance that we announce the passing of Brother Edward “Ed” Lutz, former Business Manager of IBEW Local 117, who passed away on Tuesday, April 22nd, at the age of 83.

Brother Lutz dedicated his life to the labor movement and to the values of solidarity, service, and leadership. He took his obligation of membership into Local 117 on July 6th, 1960, marking the beginning of a distinguished career in the union that spanned over four decades. Throughout his years with the Local, Brother Lutz served in numerous roles, always with integrity and a commitment to bettering the lives of his fellow members.

In 1993, he became Business Manager of Local 117, a role he held with honor and dedication until his retirement in 2005. His leadership left a lasting impact on the union and all those who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Rest in peace brother.
