Rest in Peace Brother Lancaster

Edwin Lee Lancaster, 86 of Herod, Illinois, died peacefully, Sunday, January 7, 2024.

Edwin was born on May 8, 1937, in Clairton, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Willis Berry Lancaster and Catherine (Leighty) Lancaster. Ed worked for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 117, Crystal Lake, Illinois until his retirement. Later he moved to Southern Illinois, with his wife Barbara. Ed also helped at the Hogrock Motorcycle Rally for many years after his retirement.

Ed enjoyed riding his Harley, camping and taking vacations whether it was with his wife Barb or with his closest friends. Anyone that knew him, especially at Hogrock, knew him as “Mr. Ed”. Ed was an amazing man, with his off the wall sense of humor and his love for life.

Ed was a Veteran of the US Navy and was a member of ABATE (American Bikers Aimed Towards Education) Association.

Ed is survived by his sons Edwin (Lounna) Lancaster, Gary Lancaster, his daughters Terry Lancaster, Suzanne (Jeff) Natter, and Jackie (Stuart) Joergens, daughter-in-law Lisa Lancaster, 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and one stepson Tony Yancey. Special friends, Ron and Jeannie Jackson, Tom and Del Rose McGraw, Betty Thill, Scott McCloud, Tim and Teresa York, Dale and Maggie Grimm, and the friends he gained throughout the years.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara and one son, Robert Lancaster and several brothers and sisters.

Private memorial services will be held later.
