Serving Members Since 1901
Local #117 is an Inside local and was chartered by the IBEW in 1901. Local #117’s jurisdiction includes all of McHenry County and the northern 9 townships of Kane County, all in the State of Illinois.
Our classifications include Journeyman Inside Wireman, Residential Wireman and VDV Installer/Technician and Manufacturing.
All Book signings are in person.
The Local’s general meeting is on the first Wednesday of each month at 5:00 pm at the Union Hall.

Union Meeting Reminder
Just a reminder, the new union meeting start time is 5 PM. Looking forward to seeing you all on Wednesday.
Temporary Referral Procedure Change
Starting Monday, June 20th : Strikes will still be issued for long calls. However, after 3 strikes, members will no longer be removed from the Out of Work book. Members will be rolled to the back of the list and remain on the book.
