In about two months there is an Election coming up. This might be the most important election for President in modern history. If you or a family member are not registered to vote, I urge you to get everyone in your household registered and get out and vote on November 3rd.
Under the Trump Administration, the Department of Labor which was established to be an advocate and protect working men and women, has been purposefully made ineffective and almost non-existent for workers’ rights. When a former corporate labor attorney with a history of representing companies against Labor issues is put in charge, he isn’t there to help us, especially those in organized labor. There are some Republicans, not many, in elected office that are not too bad. They see the value of organized labor, but if you look back over the years and see when Republicans controlled things; working people just get left behind, are not important in their ideology and in their perfect world Unions would not exist. That’s not what they say at election time, but look at their track record and the actions of the past. I can not support a party or candidate who would support legislations that would lead to the end of organized labor or make us irrelevant and take away our ability to make a living on a union wage. So, vote your paycheck.
The IBEW has endorsed Joe Biden for the obvious reasons. His track record for supporting working people and his experience. My personal opinion is there is something that just doesn’t make any sense to me at all about why a lot of folks support Donald Trump. I hear and see on TV that they call him a patriot that loves the country, Red, White and Blue all over the place. I don’t ever recall any other President who had 4 maybe 5 draft deferments or stood side by side with the Russian Leader and sided with Russia over our own Country’s FBI, CIA, Department of Homeland Security and even the State Department. The comments made by hundreds of senior military officials in their recent endorsement of Biden is also telling and deeply concerning for America under this administration. As to Russia’s meddling and attack on the 2016 elections that doesn’t seem very patriotic to me. There are even more examples of his erratic or blatantly selfish bizarre behavior. Like I say to Pat, Jesse, Josh and Holly you can’t make this stuff up. It’s crazy to me.
